WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT
Part of the journey in creating The Yoga Space has been creating a team of amazing people, and also growing our family. Each person who walks through our door becomes a part of us and this is what makes what we’re doing so special. It goes beyond our vision, and makes us feel a special part of this community.
Our studio is full of beauty and peace, perched up on the hill between North Curl Curl and Dee Why. The energy of the space is nurturing and comforting and you’ll instantly feel relaxed and grounded as your walk through the door.
MEET THE TEAM
Beth Cowling
I love yoga. I love weight training. I love meditating. I love music. I love water. I love beer. I love rest. I love fun & play. I love delicious nutritious food. I love chocolate. I love long, deep rambling conversations. I love silence. I love travel. I love home. I love the beach. I love the bush. I love teaching. I love learning.
I may sound like a walking contradiction, but life is all about balance and I’ve finally found my middle ground through the help of my daily yoga and meditation practice to keep my yang balanced with my yin.
Yoga & Meditation have been part of my life ever since I was a full of energy 3 year old being guided through relaxing meditations by my beautiful Mumma. I then came to Yoga as many do thinking of it as a form of exercise, then an injury caused me to re-think my ways, become more mindful and find the yoga style for me. Hello to Japanese Yoga, it just made sense to me… balancing strength and flexibility, and grounding the mind back into the body, whilst learning about Traditional Chinese Medicine to align the body with life’s cycles. Japanese Yoga, along with Yin Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation are what I do and what I teach, and I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with you. I love to teach and help put your body’s healing and nourishment in your own hands through your Yoga practice.
Creating The Yoga Space is my dream come true. A space where everyone is welcome to come practice and just be. To find your own balance in life.
I look forward to seeing you at our beautiful yoga space soon.

Tianjin Lawless-Jennings
Tianjin began practising yoga as a young teenager. She very quickly felt the benefits of the practice and soon realised how yoga positively affected her life in many ways and on many levels. Over the years as she studied, worked in the corporate and food industries, started a family business, and traveled, her yoga practice was something she always turned to.
In 2010 she dived into her first Yoga Teacher Training with the International Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA) in Australia. She started teaching in Australia, continued to further her yoga education and then relocated to Amsterdam to continue this journey. During her first pregnancy she qualified in Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga in London and she continued her studies into Ayurveda in the Netherlands, as well as running workshops and retreats in Europe.
Tianjin’s classes adapt with the ever-changing seasons as they affect the way we move in our body and how the mind functions. She often refers to the main organ systems (meridians / energy pathways) of the body, inspired by the Japanese style which she practiced under her Mentor in Australia. Her Ayurveda studies also play a large role in her teachings. Her classes are fun, dynamic, seasonal, strengthening and accessible. And she enjoys sharing her passion and knowledge of yoga in her classes.
Through particular yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, and establishing a realistic daily routine, Tianjin believes that we can keep our bodies and minds vital and healthy as we move through the seasons.
“I LOVE how good Grace feels after her class with Beth. She carries that beautiful energy back home. Grace loves to practice with me and sometimes practices on her own when we’re at home. She has a lot of respect for Beth and looks forward to her class every week.”
“One of us is a Novice when it comes to Japanese style Yoga and one is very experienced. Both of us leave our twice weekly classes feeling very upright and totally invigorated. Beth takes the classes in a calm and delightful manner. Anyone of any age should try the new studio.”
“Every week I have the pleasure of spending a blissful hour practicing yoga with Beth. Classes leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and centered. Couldn’t recommend Beth’s classes more highly. “
“The seasonality of Japanese yoga classes gives my body exactly what I didn’t know it needed. I am continually amazed at how good I feel after one of Beth‘s yoga classes, strong and flexible in the body with a calmer more relaxed mind.”
